On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1985 Cherry Coke was introduced by the Coca-Cola Company as part of it’s fruit-flavored new taste roll-out. While Cherry Coke was a success, other flavors failed miserable, like the Durian Coke experiment. After the initial release at a single Pizza Hut in New Jersey, the restaurant manager was hung in an effigy of himself as he screamed that it was sure to be a smash hit in Cambodia.

  1. Grumpy Coke Fan says:

I don’t care for this trend of fruity Cokes, not one bit.

Coke should be Coke-flavored. Anything else is an abomination to the one true glory that is Coca-Cola. (And don’t even get me started on that Coke-wannabe, Pepsi!)

And Diet Coke? DIET Coke? What’s the deal with that? Coke is Coke. If you want a diet drink, drink Tab.

Come on, Coke, Cut this nonsense out, and just keep giving us what we really want, the delicious sweet brown bubbly elixir-from-Heaven that is Coca-Cola.
