December 11, 1282

On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1282 AD, Llywelyn (Llewelyn ap Gruffydd) Ein Llyw Olaf, the last prince of an independent Wales was killed in Cilmeri, central Wales. It was deemed a mercy killing, as no one alive in England at that time could pronounce his name. Even the Welsh agreed that the uppity son-of-a-bitch had to die, as they weren’t sure which letters in his name were vowels and/or consonants, and they were tired of calling him Prince Lu-cough-wa-snort-ell-ell-Oh-I-give-up-why-don’t-you-change-your-name-to-Richard-or-Henry-so-we-can-say-it-you-bastard.
