On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com in 1953, President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed Executive Order 10450 which was the hiring and firing rules for government employment. Homosexuality, moral perversion, and communism were categorized as national security threats and could be used as a condition to fire a federal employee and for denying employment to potential applicants. It should be noted that J. Edgar Hoover was the Director of the FBI from March 1935 until May 1972 and at no time was he fired for the rumors of his suspected homosexual behavior.
