On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1869 the Periodic Table was presented to the public for the first time. Dmitri Mendeleev presented the table to the Russian Chemical Society and even correctly predicted the addition of three more elements in the near future. The followers of John Dee protested Mendeleev’s attempt at science and promised that if chemists followed this new path, then the Philosopher’s Stone would be forever lost and their research into the Magnum Opus would come to naught.
