On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 2007 the Swiss Army mistakenly invaded Liechtenstein. The Swiss President, Micheline Calmy-Rey, claimed that the 171 strong Swiss Army Company incorrectly read their map during a military exercise and travelled two kilometers into Liechtenstein before they realized their error. Liechtenstein said it wasn’t that big of a deal and it was easily understood how a group of 171 men could get lost. But Liechtenstein did recommend to the Swiss that they include at least a couple of women in their Army maneuvers in the future, so they’d have at least two people who wouldn’t be too stubborn to ask for directions when they get lost.
