On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1454 at a grand feast and after many, many drinks, Philip the Good of Burgundy took the “vow of the pheasant” by which he swore to fight the Turks. At that time the Turks were a rowdy bunch and actually fighting them was considered unhealthy, but beating them was a good way of impressing the young ladies at home. Which was why he did so, he wanted some sweet, sweet loving from the French lasses after he came home victorious. Philip was known for his sweet, sweet loving as he had over 24 mistresses and 18 illegitimate children over his long life.
