On this date in Twisted-History.com in 1998 Canadia’s Supreme Court announced that Quebec could not secede without the federal government’s consent. French Canadians in Quebec immediately laughed and jeered and said, all French-like, “Aha! You bourgeios pigs! That also means that you cannot make us leave without OUR consent.” The Canadian government was quoted as replying, “Well played, Quebec, well played.”
