April 7th, 1498

On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1498, King Charles VIII of France died when he ran into a tennis court and stuck his head on a low wooden beam. He was 28 years old at the time. No one was really surprised that it happened to King Charles “The Klutz” as he was forever catching his little toes on furniture and hearths around the castle and walking into low hanging chandeliers. The castle servants knew it was just a matter of time before he died from something stupid, but they were really upset when Dave the Tennis Court sweeper won the “Dead Pool” as everyone else had bet on “King Charles Walking Off The Drawbridge While Wearing A Full Suit Of Armor And Drowning”.
