On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1947, Al Herrin of Trento, NJ passed away at age 92. He claimed that he had not slept during his entire life. When he was asked about all those times he’d closed his eyes and loud, rattling noises that resembled snoring had come from his mouth, he explained that he was meditating and the snoring noises was his mantra, just like when other people would say ‘oooooommmm’ he’d go ‘cronk, snort, snort, cronk hawinkle snort.’ When it was explained that was sleeping and snoring, Mr. Herrin would become angry and shout, “Didn’t you idjits hear me? I SAID I was meditating.”
