December 29, 1813

On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1813 during the War of 1812, the British burned Buffalo, NY. The citizens of Buffalo weren’t too upset, as they have been known to set fire to their own neighbors’ homes just to stay warm during the winter. The rest of the young nation, and President James Madison, also said ‘Big Whoop’ Mr. British Man, burning Buffalo to the ground is like starting a war with the Welsh and beating them. Come back to us when you actually do something. So on August 24, 1814, the British burned Washington, DC.

    Living in Buffalo all of my 42 years on this Planet. I wish people would stop exaggerating the winters here. its not that bad. its not Antarctica matter of fact its worse in Syracuse then it is in Buffalo in the winter.

    Too right! They do the same thing with the Welsh — not about how cold the winters are, but about… other things, and it’s all just a big load of bollocks!

    This Twisted History fellow seems to feel that it’s somehow “okay” to make “jokes”, just because they’re “funny”, but that seems to just mean slandering innocent Welshmen and sheep and Buffalonians, and heck probably actual buffaloes too, for all I know. I certainly wouldn’t put it past him.
