On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1906, US President Theodore Roosevelt became the first American to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for helping mediate an end to the Russo-Japanese War. The Japanese and Russian governments stated they didn’t have a choice, as that crazy, bespectacled American rushed into their treaty negotiations swinging a large stick and screaming at the top of his lungs, “THIS IS THE QUIETEST I’MA GOING TO TALK TO YOU SONS-OF-BITCHES! SIGN THE BE-DAMNED TREATY OR EAT THE STICK YOU BASTARDS!” The Russians and Japanese quickly signed the papers and the war was peacefully mediated.
