On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1973, the state of New Jersey became the first in the United States to allow girls to play on Little League baseball teams. The Little League Associations of New York and Pennsylvania put out press releases the next day stating how this development was not a surprise, considering by age 12, girls in New Jersey usually had mustaches that were as thick and luxuriant as their mothers and that New Jersey girls kicked New Jersey boy butt on a regular basis.
