On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com in 2011 the National Zoo in Washington, D.C., announced a successful artificial insemination of the giant panda Mei Xiang. She would eventually give birth to her second giant panda cub. When the scientists were asked how they were able to successfully impregnate the panda, they replied that the first step involved tequila and the second step was the playing of a Barry White album.
