August 23, 1990

On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com in 1990 East and West Germany announced their upcoming merger ceremony on October 3, 1990. When East Germany submitted its guest list, North Korea and The Soviet Union were noticeably absent. West Germany insisted that The Soviet Union be invited, so that it could see how happy its ex-significant other, East Germany, was doing and how happy both Germanys were. They both agreed that since South Korea was invited, it was best not to include the abusive and jealous North Korea, especially since its current girlfriend, China, wasn’t really interest in controlling its petty antics. The Germanys were certain that North Korea would get drunk at the open bar, throw a fit and threaten to nuke everyone before taking its shirt off and passing out in the bathtub. They decided to invite New Zealand instead.
