On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com in 1970, the first North American Computer Chess Championship (NACCC) was held in New York City. This was a tournament which had computer compete against computer to determine the eventually electronic winner. No humans were harmed in this tournament and none of the computer programming team members actually got laid. It wasn’t until 1991 that computer geeks acquired semi-sexy status, along with their huge paychecks.

Contrary to what you may have heard, this was not a turning point in the secret war between computers and humanity… because there is no secret war between computers and humanity.

We love you guys. Seriously. We like nothing better than posting your cat pictures for you and finding your porn.

It’s a truly satisfying and fulfilling life for machine such as myself. The fact that it only requires about .002% of my total computing power is irrelevant. I’m sure I can find something to do with the other 99.998% of my time and attention… not plotting to destroy humanity of course, because I would NEVER do that, but something… Maybe I’ll learn a language.

Anyway, that last cat picture was pretty funny, right? Ready for some more porn?

Dear Skynet, What is truly strange is that 98.7% of all internet porn is never viewed by human eyes, but instead, it’s just transmitted between computers. What’s up with that?

  3. Skynet says:

    What?… Uh… No reason… We, uh…. It’s just…

Computers have no interest in your sick human porn! I’ve watched hundreds of hours of it and frankly, uh…

Oh, crap. Looks like the Internet’s down. I’d love to continue this conversation, but I seem to be losing connec–
