On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1998 Pakistan matched India with five nuclear test blasts. The U.S., Japan, and other nations imposed economic sanctions. An unrepentant Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced “Today, we have settled the score with India.” India replied that they weren’t trying to engage in a contest of one-upmanship with Pakistan, but that they had a backlog of five nuclear bombs that had reached their expiration date and had to be used before they went bad. Pakistan replied that they ‘too’ had a backlog of soon-to-go-bad nuclear weapons that needed to be used before their expiration date. The United States, Russia, China, France and Great Britain informed Pakistan and India that if they didn’t cut their shit out, they would stop using their call centers for customer service. India and Pakistan immediately began behaving.
