On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1783 the first daily newspaper was published in the U.S. by Benjamin Towner called “The Pennsylvania Evening Post”. Within a week, the newspaper had received its first letter from a reader complaining about the newspaper’s liberal agenda.

The first message was sent from Washington, DC, to Baltimore, MD and it read “What hath God wrought?” The return message was, “Message received.
