On This Date in TWISTED-HISTORY.com! in 1884, the first edition of the Oxford English Dictionary was published. The word Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch (a town in Wales, big surprise there) was originally misspelled as Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrydrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.
